Bone Grafting

Major and minor bone grafting

Over a period of time, or as a result of trauma, a defect in the jawbone may occur. This may be associated with missing teeth. The loss of teeth causes shrinkage in the supporting bone structure. This often leaves a condition in which there is poor quality and quantity of bone suitable for placement of dental implants or prosthetic reconstruction. In these situations bone grafts can be performed to facilitate prosthetic reconstruction.
